Mathematics has always been my sanctuary. I've often found myself naturally attuned to its problems, something my grandmother claims is in my DNA, passed down from my parents. Living in China with her until the sixth grade, I remained unaware of this inherited knack. But as I delved deeper into the subject, I cherished the moments of clarity and tranquility it brought, allowing my imagination to soar. Unlike other subjects where words dominate, math's symbols provide me a unique lens to interpret the world. This realization was my little source of joy growing up. However, my journey with math hasn't always been a bed of roses.
Relocating countries in middle school, enduring multiple transitions, and the unprecedented challenges of the COVID era as I stepped into high school posed obstacles in pursuing advanced courses. But I'll forever be grateful to my devoted math teachers, counselors, and especially my mother, who pulled me through the gloom of the pandemic and encouraged me to be more persistent and resilient facing challenges. From AP Algebra and Geometry to Calculus and now Statistics, I've come to understand that math truly is the cornerstone of all sciences. As I look ahead, I'm eager to dive into scientific research in college, leveraging the power of advanced mathematics to unravel even greater mysteries.
MY MATH JOURNEY WAS NOT VERY SMOOTH, BUT IT WILL NOT PREVENT ME FROM MY DESIRE TO PURSUE SCIENCE AND APPLY MATH TO GAIN MORE KNOWLEDGE IN FUTURE.
